TOLEDO CITY — A man was arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Barangay Cabitoonan here on Saturday morning.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) recovered three .45-caliber pistols, one 9mm pistol, and ammunition and firearm magazines from Dennis Torrejos, 40, who works as an embalmer.

The CIDG said it is verifying reports that Torrejos is an alleged contact of the Parojinogs in Cebu and is involved in illegal-drug transactions.

Torrejos admitted that he owns one unlicensed .45-caliber pistol. He said he owns a gun for self-defense.

The firearms recovered from Torrejos will be analyzed to see if they are connected to any crime. Torrejos is currently in a CIDG detention cell.
