MANILA - A magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolted Llorente, Eastern Samar on Wednesday afternoon, Phivolcs said.

The quake struck at 4:46 p.m., 11 kilometers southwest of Llorente town.

It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 30 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.

Phivolcs reported the following intensities:

Intensity V - Llorente, Guiuan, Salcedo and Mercedes towns in Eastern Samar
Intensity IV - Borongan City; General MacArthur, Giporlos and Maydolong, Eastern Samar
Intensity III - San Julian and Taft, Eastern Samar; Tacloban City
Intensity II - Dolores and Oras, Eastern Samar; Palo, Leyte

The following instrumental intensities were also recorded:

Intensity IV - Borongan City
Intensity III - Palo, Leyte; Catbalogan City, Samar
