MANILA - Manila Mayor Joseph ''Erap'' Estrada has offered P100,000 for tips that could lead to the arrest of a former Army reservist tagged in the fatal shooting of a biker in Quiapo earlier this week.

Senior Supt. Joel Coronel, Manila Police District (MPD) Director, earlier urged Estrada to draw the reward money from city funds.

In a statement, Estrada said the suspect, Vhon Martin Tanto, could be in danger if he tries to put up a fight.

"Delikado siya ‘pag nahuli siya. ‘pag lumaban siya, siguradong six feet under the ground siya," he said.

"Of course, I’m appealing to him to surrender. But once he’s caught, he will be put behind bars, automatic, until he is sentenced… to death," he added.

When asked if he also wants the suspect killed if he resisted, he quipped: “Dapat diyan, e…itanong niyo kay President Duterte.”

The MPD is preparing criminal charges against Vhon Martin Tanto, the primary suspect in the brutal killing of bicycle rider Mark Vincent Geralde.

Coronel reiterated his plea for Tanto's voluntary surrender with the assurance that he will not be harmed by authorities.

Manhunt operations are underway against Tanto, whose abandoned vehicle was found in Nueva Vizcaya on Thursday morning.

CCTV footage earlier showed Tanto repeatedly shooting Geralde after their fistfight in P. Casal Street on Monday night.

A teenage orphan was hit by a stray bullet during the incident.
