MANILA - Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday showed off a much cleaner Bonifacio Shrine just days after he stepped on feces right in front of the monument.

"Hindi na siya mapanghi, hindi na siya t*e-t*e island, pinakamalaking kubeta sa Maynila. Kawawang Andres Bonifacio, kung hindi illegal terminal dun sa post office ang nasa harapan niya, kubeta ang nasa likuran niya," Moreno said during the flag raising ceremony.

(It doesn't smell like urine, it's not sh*t island, it's not the biggest toilet in Manila anymore. Poor Andres Bonifacio, he faces an illegal terminal at the post office, while there's a toilet behind him.)

Moreno said the monument serves as a reminder to the youth of the bravery of the country's heroes and what they could achieve.

"'Yan ay itinatag ng estado upang ipaalala sa darating na panahon, sa mga anak natin na kapag ika’y gumawa ng kabutihan sa iyong kapwa, komunidad, bansa at sa pagmamahal mo ika’y gagantimpaalaan sa darating pang panahon," he said.

(The State built the monument to remind our children that if you do something good to you community and country, your love will be rewarded.)

Moreno urged his constituents to help him in giving his people what they deserve.

"Kaya hindi bagay na itong simpleng lugar ay babuyin natin at pakinabangan lang ng iilan. Pipilitin ko sa tulong niyo sa awa ng Diyos na muling ibalik sa tao ang dapat sa tao," he said.

(We should not deface an area, which only benefits a few. With your help, I will try to return to the people what should be theirs.)

"Hinihikayat ko kayong lahat, sana po, bilang inyong pansamantalang ama, samahan niyo kami ni Honey Lacuna, magtulong-tulong tayo dahil tayong mga batang Maynila walang magmamalasakit satin kundi tayo ring mga batang Maynila."
