MEXICO, Pampanga - Constituents of the third district of Pampanga paid their last respects to Elizabeth Panlilio Gonzales, wife of district Rep. Aurelio 'Dong' Gonzales, Jr., as she was laid to rest Thursday.

The 57-year-old was among 37 guests and employees who died in the attack at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on June 2. The lone gunman, Jessie Carlos, killed himself after torching casino tables and stealing casino chips in the predawn attack.

Archbishop Emeritus Paciano Aniceto, the former Archbishop of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, led the funeral mass where the lawmaker shared the ordeal that he and their 21-year old son Brenz went through in identifying his wife's body.

After the mass at Anao Chapel, Elizabeth's remains were laid to rest in the family mausoleum behind the chapel.

Elizabeth's sister, Consolacion 'Connie' Panlilio-Mijares, also died in the attack.
