COVID-19 recoveries in Quezon City near 1,000; no new deaths

MANILA--The number of patients who have recovered from the novel coronavirus in Quezon City reached 992, after the local government recorded 41 new survivors on Wednesday.

In its latest bulletin, the city government said local COVID-19 cases have reached 2,265.

Fatalities in Quezon City linked to the virus remained at 182, as no new deaths were recorded.

Officials said the city still has 829 active or recovering cases.

Among the city's districts, District 4 has the most number of coronavirus cases with 528, followed by District 6 (381) and District 1 (368).

District 3 has 298 infections, while District 2 has 229 and District 5 with 199.

Quezon City officials placed certain areas in barangays Bahay Toro, Batasan Hills, Culiat, Sauyo and Tatalon under 14-day "special concern lockdown" due to their high number of COVID-19 cases.

To date, the Philippines has 19,748 COVID-19 cases, with 4,153 recoveries and 974 fatalities.
