There are two billionaires in the Senate and the rest are millionaires.

Senator Cynthia Villar, whose family is engaged in real estate and retail, emerged as this year’s richest member of the Senate with a net worth of P3,606,034,556 with zero liabilities.

Villar is the wife of former senator Manuel Villar who was named by Forbes as among the wealthiest Filipinos.

Landing third in the list of richest senators is Senator Ralph Recto with a net worth of P522,610,452.59. Recto’s assets include real estate properties, cash in bank, and investments.

Members of prominent political clans, Senators Juan Edgardo Angara and Juan Miguel Zubiri registered over a hundred million in their SALNs.
