MANILA (UPDATE)- At least two persons were brought to the hospital after a part of a condominium building in Makati City collapsed Thursday morning, authorities said.

The building is located at the corner of Nicanor Garcia Street and Metropolitan Avenue in Makati.

SM Development Corp confirmed that part of the wall of the parking level of Jazz Mall was damaged. Residents of the building were asked to evacuate.

Makati Mayor Abigail Binay said authorities deployed a bomb disposal team after receiving reports that there was a blast in the area.

Authorities meanwhile have closed off Nicanor Garcia Street, from Jupiter Street to Kalayaan Avenue, while they assess the building and clear the debris.

SMDC said in a statement later Thursday that the incident "does not affect the structural integrity of the development and that the buildings are safe for occupancy" and assured probe on its cause is underway.
