MANILA - The city of Parañaque has imposed a "24-hour" curfew, its mayor said Monday as Luzon remains under lockdown in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Local officials in the city have given a home quarantine pass to each family which allows only 1 member to go outside and buy essential supplies, according to mayor Edwin Olivarez, also chairman of the Metro Manila Mayors' Council.

Other mayors of the capital region are also considering to impose a round-the-clock curfew, Olivarez said. They are set to meet Monday morning, he added.

The mayors earlier approved an 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew during Luzon's lockdown.

As of Sunday, there were 380 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, including 25 deaths and 17 recoveries.
