MANILA- Actress Kris Aquino on Wednesday cried foul over a joke made by senatorial candidate Christopher "Bong" Go concerning her previous relationship with actor Phillip Salvador.

Aquino posted a clip of Go's speech on her Instagram, where the senatorial aspirant can be heard telling Salvador, whom he addressed as "Ipe," that he had fooled the actress.

"Si Ipe po kakaiba 'yung recognition na binigay sa kaniya, adopted father of Davao City po siya kasi po nag--iwan po siya ng apat na anak sa Davao," Go said.

"Totoo naman eh, naloko mo nga si Kris Aquino eh," he added, drawing laughter from the crowd.

(He was given a different recognition as the adopted father of Davao City because he left 4 children in Davao. It's true, you even fooled Kris Aquino.)

Salvador and Aquino were in a relationship during the 90s and have one son, Joshua.

But the "joke" was not funny for Aquino, who took to social media to say that she feels "so much hurt deeply in the past few days" and that she has reached out to Go over the incident.

"Wala po akong atraso sa inyo SAP Bong Go. I have only had good words for you pero sana sa paglilingkod niyo para sa mga Pilipino bilang senador (I know you are a sure winner), sana priority nyo rin po ang mga kababaihan," she said in the caption.

(I have done nothing wrong to you SAP Bong Go. But in serving the Filipinos as a senator, I hope you also prioritize women.)

"Kris Aquino na ako pero madaling gawing 'joke' na 'naloko' ako ng ama ng panganay ko. Nagtrabaho ako, at hindi ako pinabayaan ng pamilya ko. But what about the women without financial security and family?" she added.

(I'm already Kris Aquino but I can still easily be the subject of jokes of being "fooled" by the father of my eldest son. I worked and did not abandon my family.)

Go on Wednesday publicly apologized to Aquino during a campaign sortie.

"Ma'am Kris Aquino, paumanhin po. Joke lang po namin yun ni Ipe," he said.

(Ms. Kris Aquino, I'm sorry. It was only our joke.)

Go, who served as President Rodrigo Duterte's aide, is running for senator under the ruling PDP-Laban political party.
