<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/02/17/auring-1.jpg"/></figure></div><p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATE)</strong> - A tropical depression off Mindanao entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday morning, becoming the country&#x27;s first tropical cyclone for 2021, the state weather bureau said.</p><p>The storm, named &quot;Auring,&quot; was last estimated 900 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 10 a.m., PAGASA said in its latest weather bulletin.</p><p>Auring was moving west southwest at 20 kilometers per hour with maximum winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph, it added.</p><p>It is forecast to make landfall over Caraga between Saturday evening and Sunday morning as a tropical storm.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/02/17/auringtrack.jpg"/><figcaption>Track of Tropical depression Auring. <em>PAGASA</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>While the storm has yet to affect the country, PAGASA warned residents of Visayas, Bicol region, Mimaropa, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, the Davao region, Cotabato, and Lanao del Sur to take precautions due to &quot;increasing likelihood of heavy rains and gusty conditions&quot; over the weekend until Monday.</p><p>On Wednesday, the tail-end of a frontal system will bring moderate to heavy rains over Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Albay, Catanduanes and light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Central Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and the rest of Bicol region. </p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DrYaFNAyapo?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><div class="iwantbar"> </div>
