A suspected rabid dog who bit 21 people died after it was caught Sunday.

MANDAUE - Twenty-one people were bitten by a dog in Barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City Saturday night.

The head of the dog will be brought to the city pound to check if it had rabies.

Del Castillo said he and the other victims will also be meeting with the dog's owner on Monday.

The victims said they will file a case against the dog's owner if the owner does not pay for their treatment.

The dog that was let loose that night was owned by a certain Macoy Seno.

Because of the incident, an information drive will be launched by the government of Mandaue City.

In Cebu City, 22 dogs have been recorded to have rabies.

Cebu City veterinarian Alice Utlang advises those bitten by rabid animals to wash the wound with soap and flowing water. It is also best to monitor the dog and get vaccine immediately.
