Brigadier General Allan Arrojado has been appointed as the new commander of the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region.

A former commander of Joint Task Force Sulu, Arrojado is known for his "expertise and experience in couterterrorism."

"His record of service speaks of his capability, capacity and commitment. Your expertise and experience in counterterrorism will be of great value in our peace and security efforts here in NCR," Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, said.

"We are confident that BGen. Arrojado will sustain the momentum set by his predecessor," he added.

A member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1984, Arrojado replaced Major General Jesus Manangquil, Jr. during Wednesday's change of command ceremony.

Prior to his assignment as new JTF-NCR Commander, Arrojado also serves as deputy commander of the Central Command based in Cebu.

Arrojado, likewise, led the 601st Infantry Brigade deployed in North Cotabato and the 501st Infantry Brigade in Sulu.

Meanwhile, Guerrero also announced Manangquil's new designation as the commander of the 9th Infantry Division based in the Bicol region, replacing Brigadier General Danilo Chad Isleta, who now servesd as deputy commander and acting commander.
