MANILA - A graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law topped the 2015 Bar Examinations.

Rachel Angeli Miranda topped the Bar with a grade of 87.40%.

Of the total 6,600 law graduates who took last year's Bar Examinations, a total of 1,731 passed for a 26.21% passing rate. The passing grade was 75%.

The top 10 Bar placers are the following:

2. Athena Plaza (University of San Carlos) - 87.25%
3. Jayson Aguilar (University of the Philippines) - 86.75%
4. Reginald Arceo (Ateneo de Manila University) - 86.70%
5. Mandy Therese Anderson (Ateneo de Manila University) - 86.15%
6. Giselle Hernandez (University of the Philippines) - 86.10%
7. Darniel Bustamante (San Beda College - Manila) - 85.90%
8. Jecca Jacildo (University of San Carlos) - 85.85%
Soraya Laut (Xavier University) - 85.85%
Jericho Tiu (Ateneo de Manila University) - 85.85%
9. Jedd Brian Hernandez (University of the Philippines) - 85.80%
10. Ronel Buenaventura (Bulacan State University) - 85.75%
Lara Carmela Fernando (San Beda College - Manila) - 85.75%

In 2014, 1,126 examinees or 18.82% of the total number of 5,984 examinees passed the Bar.

The Bar covers eight subjects, namely Political Law, Labor Law, Civil Law, Taxation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics.
