Kristel Fulgar and Ha Su-Hyuk are finally married, and their wedding was so beautiful it’s like straight out of a romantic K-drama. 

The couple tied the knot on May 10, 2025 in South Korea, where the Filipino actress/singer/vlogger will now be based. A couple of days before this traditional Korean wedding, the two held an Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) wedding also in Seoul. Kristel is a member of INC, and in November 2024, Suhyuk joined INC as well, later confirming their relationship. Shortly after, in February 2025, the two got engaged. 

In a vlog, Kristel talked about why she thought Suhyuk was “The One.” She said that you just get that feeling, and you’ll just know it. “Nakita ko sa kanya ’yung dream guy ko and then nakita niya rin sa’kin ’yung dream girl niya,” she shared. Commenting on what naysayers are thinking—that they got married too soon—Kristel was blunt in saying that she thought long and hard about her decision, and it just felt right considering they’re at the right age and are both “financially stable and ready to start a family.” Their love story has made her believe in destiny. 

“Paano ko ba nasabi na dream guy ko siya? Alam niyo ang dami kong na-meet na guys sa showbiz. Ang gugwapo and ang yayaman. Pero alam ko na he’s The One kasi he’s the only man I’ve ever imagined having kids with,” Kristel opened up on social media. 

Their road to the altar was smooth-flowing because they were together every step of the way: wedding venue ocular, food tasting, and suit fitting (where Kristel really guided Suhyuk in selecting his ensemble). Traditionally, the bride doesn’t let the groom see her gown, so it’d surprise him. But Kristel let go of that tradition and enlisted Suhyuk’s help in choosing her gowns, too. You know that K-drama scene where there’s this spacious fitting room and the bride-to-be tries on gowns while her groom waits for the curtains to be opened to reveal his lovely fiancée? Yep, that’s what they did, and they both enjoyed the process.

They did the food tasting together, along with Kristel's family. Their wedding menu featured the following: Herbs Marinated Salmon Rolled in Crab Meat, Truffle Mushroom Cream Soup, Fillet Beef Tenderloin Steak with Special French Sauce, Japanese Food Chef’s Handmade Sushi, Korean Noodles Soup, and Cheesecake with Coffee.

The two also had a traditional Korean-style pre-nup shoot, and each layout exuded an impeccable aesthetic—simple yet stunningly romantic. 

We can’t get enough of Kristel Fulgar and Suhyuk’s weddings! So, here are the details and elements we loved about them:

Kristel’s wedding gowns

Kristel vlogged about her wedding gown fitting, and what her off-the-rack options had in common was that they were all ball gowns. It’s a silhouette that fits her petite frame perfectly. She shared a video where she rated the gowns she didn’t pick, and it could be surmised that she wanted something that struck the right balance between simplicity and bedazzled elegance. We think her final choices for the church ceremony, the wedding hall ceremony, and the reception met that stylish combination. 

For the church wedding, she picked an intricately embellished jewel neck ball gown with short sleeves. She went for something more romantic and frothy for the wedding hall ceremony, donning a creation that featured a mix of an illusion neckline with an off-shoulder, sweetheart neckline, and a heavily beaded bodice that cascaded elegantly into a sparkly ball gown. Her reception dress was much simpler yet tastefully designed: an off-shoulder sheath adorned with silver beads.

The wedding hall venue

K-drama fans are all too familiar with this type of venue. A traditional Korean wedding today happens in a wedding hall where the aisle is in the middle, surrounded by round tables for the guests. Their wedding venue of choice was Luna Miele in South Korea, and it looked dreamy with the flowers illuminating, softening, and brightening up the luxurious space.

Kristel is known as a beauty vlogger who takes skincare seriously. It’s no surprise she was extra radiant on her big day. She went for a Korean-style makeup: natural-looking lashes, thin black liner that subtly punctuated her eyes, a hint of shimmer on her lower lashline, and pink, glossy lips. She complemented her makeup style with an effortlessly chic updo, her hair styled with a thin, bejeweled headband. But no doubt, what we loved most about Kristel’s bridal beauty look was her glass skin!

It’s truly fascinating to see different wedding traditions. This space is often seen in K-dramas: the bride’s waiting area where photo shoots with the guests are usually done. This also makes the ideal spot for the couple’s wedding portraits. Oh, how we loved their photographs by NicePrint Photo!

The marriage of cultures

Ultimately, the wedding of Kristel Fulgar and Suhyuk not just marked the union of the two but also the rest of their families, who have likewise embraced the opportunity to know more about the cultures, traditions, and beliefs of the newest addition to their family. It was so nice to see Kristel’s mother in a hanbok, a traditional Korean garment! 

In an interview with Star Magic's Thess Gubi after their weddings, Kristel was brimming with joy, saying, "Ang pinaka-plano ko talaga sa life is to build my own family. Ito na nagsisimula na 'yung dream ko." 

The day after their Korean wedding, Kristel flew to the Philippines to cast her vote for the national and local elections. The following day, the newlyweds flew to Europe for their honeymoon.
