This is more than a rebrand—it’s a rebirth. Following his co-founder’s buyout of his original salon in 2024, Mark Rosales finally reclaims his narrative. And this time, it’s just heart, just him—it’s just MARK’ed.

A marketing professional turned celebrity hairstylist, Mark’s journey has been like the dizzying heights of beauty fame, reads. As he made the pivot to hairdressing in 2014, he answered a true calling rather than just a career change. What followed was a meteoric rise as he styled the tresses of stars like Gabbi Garcia, Lovi Poe, Dominique Cojuangco, and Sofia Pablo. Beyond the allure of glamor, it was Mark’s deep dive into scalp health that made waves in 2018, when he introduced the first hair scanner in a Philippine salon to revolutionize consultations.

From a personal renaissance, MARK’ed Salon was born, and it is his full-circle moment. For him, it is a brand built to embody his expertise, artistry, and passion for transformative hair care.

What It Means to Be MARK’ed

Situated at Scout Borromeo, MARK’ed Salon feels like a sigh of relief, wrapped in tranquil sage hues and soft light. It is a space where hair becomes a form of self-expression and a place for anyone craving more than a trim or a color refresh.

Taking a closer look, the name MARK’ed unfolds like a poem: Mark—the visionary behind the salon, the apostrophe (‘)—a bridge between the tangible and intangible, symbolizing care and connection, and ed—the lasting imprint. Together, it’s a promise: Once you’ve been MARK’ed, you don’t just look different but you feel different.

That same ethos is woven into the brand’s tagline: Make a MARK. This time, it’s just MARK’ed. After years of bending to client expectations and industry norms, Mark is trusting his gut. No more diluting the vision but just truth, artistry, and hair that speaks for itself.

“I’ve spent years trying to please others whether in life or in hairstyling, where there’s often pressure to follow specific formulas or expectations. But after the buyout, it was as if wisdom spoke to me: ‘Make a mark, this time it’s just MARK’ed.’ It became clear that I needed to trust my own artistry and vision, rather than constantly shaping my work around external demands,” said the artist.

Cutting with Passion and Purpose

One of the most defining aspects of the MARK’ed experience is its pioneering embrace of the Skinification revolution. Long before it trended, Mark was ahead of the curve, introducing the first hair scanner in a Philippine salon back in 2018. That same spirit drives this campaign today, built on the core idea that “Your Scalp is Your Skin Too.” With scalp treatments rooted in skincare science, clients aren’t just treated for a day, rather, they’re nurtured for long-term hair health. It’s hair care that actually cares.

But perhaps the most soul-stirring part of MARK’ed is what happens when the spotlight turns to those often unseen. Through HAirapy, the salon offers blind makeover sessions where individuals undergo full transformations, only seeing the results after the process is complete. More than a haircut, the salon is about restoring confidence and self-worth.

True to its spirit, MARK’ed also reaches beyond its sleek walls with Libreng Gupit, a heartfelt outreach program offering free haircuts to underserved communities. Beyond its charitable gesture, it leaves a statement that confidence should not only be reserved for the privileged, as everyone deserves to feel good about themselves.

In addition to its client services, MARK’ed is a hub for the future of beauty. The Innovation Room is a creative lab where aspiring hairstylists, beauty brands, and industry pros learn, create, and collaborate. Hands-on workshops, brand partnerships, artistic freedom all find a home here, nurturing the next generation of talent while pushing the boundaries of the craft.
