Social media is no longer just about sustaining friendships and communication. With the pandemic driving everyone online, it has also opened ways to generate income, one of which is through live selling.

Proof that live selling opens golden opportunities is Madam Inutz, who gained online fame for her style of selling pre-loved items. Madam Inutz said she lost her job and love life during the pandemic. Thinking of ways to earn, while moving on, she decided to sell pre-loved clothes from her ex-boyfriend.

She started her online business with zero capital, besides the effort and internet connection. So, her first advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to be resourceful.

“Kasi kailangan mo talaga gumawa ng way para magka-income. Walang magbibigay sa’yo, eh kasi lahat walang trabaho, lahat sobrang affected ng pandemic. Walang ibang tutulong sa’yo kundi sarili mo. Maging mautak ka. Kahit anong hirap at kawalan, meron at meron pa ring paraan na kikita ka kahit hindi ka naglalabas ng pera,” she said in this episode of Kapamilya Chat.

Next tip is to be creative like Madam Inutz who captured miners’ attention thanks to her ‘hugot’ lines and jokes, “Kailangan malaro ‘yung utak mo. Kailangan joyful ka, palabiro ka, para at the same time nae-entertain mo ‘yung mga viewers mo. Hindi ka lang nagbebenta, nagbibigay ka rin dapat ng aliw.”

With the competition getting tougher, online sellers tend to fake their personalities to increase viewership and sales. That’s a no-no according to Madam. She said it’s better to stay true to yourself. Also, ignore the bashers. Or better yet, use the negative comments to your advantage as she did, “Dahil sa mga basher, nakakakuha ako ng hugot lines. Sila rin ‘yung naging susi para makilala ako ng ibang tao.”

Don’t be afraid to explore and be creative. Also, keep your pre-loved items presentable. Madam Inutz would wash and iron her items before selling. She also bought a mannequin and improved her background to make her videos more enticing.

Above all, keep praying and don’t give up. Madam started with only six live viewers but she never thought of quitting. And look where her tenacity brought her.

“’Pag kasi pumasok ka sa isang negosyo, kailangan desidido ka at enjoy-in mo lang ‘yung negosyo. At magdasal ka na sana maubos,” shared Madam Inutz.
