In light of the re-airing of his Maalaala Mo Kaya life story this coming Saturday, July 30, Bryan Roy Tagarao, or more popular by his stage name Brenda Mage, graced the latest episode of Kapamilya Chat on Friday, July 29, to talk about his unforgettable experiences when he did it, and even shared trivia about it that we haven’t known yet.

Initially broadcast in 2019, the episode was written by Dickson Comia directed by Richard Ibasco Arellano, with Awra Briguela playing as his younger self.

Brenda Mage is happy that those who were not able to watch it before are going to know him better and deeper after his stints in It’s Showtime Miss Q & A and PInoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10, as well as be inspired by his story.

The comedian also took us back to some of his unforgettable memories while doing this MMK episode. Brenda is happy that he was still able to portray himself well with the help of his generous co-actors, who supported him in their scenes by giving him the emotions he needed. Besides, being able to focus and putting himself in the shoes of his character, not to mention that it was his story, made it possible and easy for him pull it off.

Brenda also recalled how completely challenging the crying scenes were for him, for there was one instance when he couldn’t shed tears anymore. He seemingly had run dry after shooting a lot of takes for a particular dramatic scene, which already took them one to two hours.

When asked if there’s a part of his life that wasn’t shown on the episode that he wishes to share, it would be when he got detained at the immigration when he was around 18 or 19 years old. It happened after the agency he used to work with was accused of human trafficking because of sending workers abroad without proper documents from POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Agency).

He was freed after four hours of interrogation and detention as the officers failed to come up with any reason to file a case against him nor to put him in jail since he was just sending them to the airport. That got him really anxious since he was the breadwinner of his family, so he was thankful that God heard his prayers during that time.

Brenda wanted viewers to know about it for them to see and be inspired that before getting to where he is now and becoming a popular comedian, he went through difficulties and did a lot of sacrifices in life.

Don’t forget to catch Brenda Mage as he portrays himself in his own life story in MMK, which will be re-aired this coming Saturday, July 30, 8PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and A2Z.
