As Filipinos, we always make it a point to bring home pasalubong from our travels. Knick knacks such as food, fridge magnets, keychains, beauty products, and other souvenirs often make it to our luggage back home, making the weight of our suitcases heavier than we usually plan for them to be. At the airport, we're even met with more chances of shopping—last minute duty free run, anyone? And while this is something we're used to, we don't really love the idea of lugging around several paper bags and plastic bags with us on the flight back home. Enter: BAGGU.

It's always a good idea to have an eco-friendly bag in your travel kit, as you never know what kind of things you want to bring home. Sometimes, they just won't fit in your luggage anymore, and paper bags just won't do. Plus—you'll be scoring brownie points with Mother Earth if you refuse plastic bags and single-use bags at shopping malls. At this point, having a durable one is pretty basic. Might we suggest you invest in one that will last you for years of use?

BAGGU is an American bags and lifestyle brand that aims “to make simple, playful things for everyday living.” Founded in 2007, BAGGU’s first product was the Standard BAGGU—based on the construction of a plastic shopping bag, made from 100% recycled ripstop nylon, and built to hold 2-3 times as much as a disposable grocery bag. The brand is also well-known for its recycled heavyweight nylon crescent and shoulder purse-style crossbody bags, and its versatile yet stylish trolley-compatible travel duffels and totes.

By now, you probably own an eco tote made of canvas, but we're also huge fans of BAGGU, as the material is super lightweight and easy to wash and clean. I personally have been a BAGGU user for almost 10 years now—I carry it with me every single day!

The cool thing about BAGGU is that it doesn't come in just one "grocery bag" design. For Spring 2025, the brand launched lots of new sustainable bags you can bring with you for your travels, whether it be for pasalubong or just exploring the city in style.
