Rabin Angeles has become one of the most beloved rising stars of this generation, thanks to his excellent portrayal of Yuri Hanamichi in the 2025 VIVA One romantic-comedy series Ang Mutya ng Section E. Now, he embarks on a new chapter of his growing fame as the newest local ambassador for the Korean skincare brand The Lab by Blanc Doux, particularly its Green Flavonoid line. 

The 20-year-old actor began his journey as a humble teenager with big dreams. During his early years in showbiz, Rabin shared that before he got his first car, he frequently commuted from Pampanga to Manila for workshops and tapings. The experience took a toll on his rest and time, but all that effort paid off. Today, he has become one of the most adored heartthrobs, with a huge fan base online.

In an exclusive interview with Metro.Style, Rabin shared nine interesting facts about himself—from his skincare routine to glimpses into his personal life. 

Rabin loves taking care of his skin

Rabin’s hard-working character is reflected not only in his achievements but also in how he takes care of himself, especially his skin. When asked what made him say “yes” to becoming the face of The Lab by Blanc Doux, Rabin shared his personal experience, “Siguro po nag-yes talaga ako dito kasi ginamit ko talaga ‘yung product. Bago po ibigay sa’kin ‘tong product na sabi i-endorse ko, nagamit ko na nga. Kasi, nagkaroon ako ng breakout, tapos nu’ng pinagamit sa’kin ‘to, nawala lahat ng pimples ko within two weeks. Kaya nu’ng sinabi na ako ang magiging face nito, natuwa po ako kasi gusto ko po talaga i-share sa mga tao kung gaano kaganda ‘tong product na ‘to.”

The Green Flavonoid Collection is a vegan skincare set that targets active pimples and helps reduce skin redness. The set includes a Pore Gel Cleanser, 2.5 Solution, 2.5 Pads, 5.0 Serum, and 3.0 Cream. And among all these amazing products, Rabin revealed one item he can't leave without: “'Yung cleanser po, ‘eto po talaga ‘yung lagi kong dala-dala. Pero mas gaganda po ‘yung skin niyo 'pag inalagaan niyo siya with the set.”

Furthermore, he also shared three essentials he would put inside his summer vacation bag, “'Yung cleanser, toner pads—kasi ‘pag may namumula sa’kin, lagi kasi ako may pula-pula (sa skin) ‘pag mainit—ilalagay ko ‘yun. Tapos sunscreen.”

What Rabin loves doing on his rest days

Since joining Ang Mutya ng Section E, Rabin’s schedule has been packed. So during his rest days, specifically when he’s home in Pampanga, he takes full advantage of the downtime. “Natutulog palagi ako. Gusto ko 'pag nasa bahay ako, palagi lang ako natutulog,” he shared.

Additionally, he also finds skincare therapeutic, helping him unwind at night before going to sleep. Of this routine, he said, “Oo, kailangan bago matulog talaga. ‘Yung ‘pag nag-skincare ako, sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam. Sobrang dami mong makeup tapos aalisin mo ‘yung makeup gamit ‘yung mga products—sobrang refreshing nito.”

Rabin always makes time for his family

Despite his hectic schedule, Rabin remains close to his family in Pampanga. He constantly checks in on them and makes sure to keep his mom updated daily, “'Pag po wala akong taping, ginagawa ko ‘yung best ko para makauwi ng Pampanga—para kila Mommy. Tapos dapat everyday tinatawagan ko siya. 'Pag meron akong [money], nagpapadala ako kila Mommy. Tapos 'pag nagtatrabaho ako, nagtatrabaho talaga ako. Naiintindihan naman ako ni Mommy, pero kailangan nakakabawi din ako sa kanila,” Rabin explained.

Rabin’s favorite Kapampangan dish is sisig

Being a proud Kapampangan is evident in both Rabin’s personality and belief, and he takes great pride in it. While he has his own way of staying fit for his roles, he never forgets the taste of his favorite Kapampangan dish: sisig. He also elaborated on why the version of sisig in Manila is different from the one in his hometown and why Pampanga’s original recipe stands out: “Dito po kasi [sa Manila], palaging may mayonnaise. ‘Pag sa Pampanga, natikman niyo ‘yung sisig na walang mayonnaise—ayun ang the best!”

Rabin watches what he eats

He makes sure to take care of his physique. Even after wrapping up a project, he mentioned he never neglects managing his meals, knowing that unexpected big roles could come at any time. “Kailangan talaga. Kailangan lagi kang ready—paano 'pag nagka-project ka na sobrang laki? Tapos 'di ako physically fit? Kailangan lagi maayos.”

His dream leading lady is Nadine Lustre

While his love team with Ashtine Olviga continuously thrives, Rabin isn’t shying away from opportunities to work alongside other artists. When asked who his dream female co-star is, he answered without hesitation, "Nadine Lustre."

“Gusto ko po someday magkaroon ng [movie] na parang Just a Stranger nina Marco (Gumabao) at Anne (Curtis)—‘yung may older leading lady. Feeling ko ma-challenge ako sa role na ‘yun, lalo na kung si Nadine Lustre ‘yung ka-loveteam ko kasi sobrang galing niyang artista,” he added. 

He wants to keep attending workshops

Rabin showcased his passion for learning more about entertainment and enhancing his skills. Even before the series happened, he took workshops already. Now that he has gained recognition, Rabin remains grounded and plans to attend more workshops.

“Ayoko po tumigil mag-workshop, sa totoo lang. Kasi ‘yung workshop, parang siya ‘yung pampabalik sa’kin sa track. Hindi naman palagi may project ka. Kahit may project ako or wala, nag-aaral ako palagi,” he noted.

Rabin makes sure to stay genuine on- and off-camera

One thing fans love about Rabin is how real he is—whether on-screen or behind the scenes. When asked if there’s a side of him that people haven’t seen yet, he humbly answered, “Wala na kayong bago pang malalaman, kasi kung ano ‘yung nakikita niyo sa’kin, ‘yun na talaga ako.”
