Time to witness another epic season as everyone's favorite reality show ushers in a new era for its 20th anniversary. Recently, ABS-CBN introduced a new season of one of the most beloved Filipino reality shows, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), with a twist: a collaboration with GMA for PBB Celebrity Collab Edition.

In this season, both Kapamilya and Kapuso artists join as housemates, marking a historic moment, as it’s the first time audiences will see Star Magic and Sparkle artists inside Big Brother’s house together in one frame!

ABS-CBN warmly welcomed the GMA executives and artists at the Dolphy Theatre where the show's mediacon was held. It was hosted by Ai Dela Cruz and Kaloy Tingcungco, who introduced the new hosts for this year’s PBB Celebrity Collab Edition. They started with Kapamilya stars Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, and Alexa Ilacad, and online greetings from Enchong Dee and Kim Chiu, followed by Kapuso stars Gabbi Garcia and Mavy Legaspi.

In addition to the excitement, It’s Showtime host and The Voice Kids Season 1 first runner-up Darren Espanto and Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose joined forces as they teased the newly revived theme song, delivering a melodic yet modern take on the show’s iconic anthem.

Throughout the years, PBB has continuously introduced uncharted moments, keeping fans engaged and hooked every season. This time around, celebrating its 20th anniversary wouldn’t be complete without surprises for the fans.

The head of Star Magic, director Laurenti “Lauren” Dyogi, shared the deciding factor behind why, out of all the reality competitions, PBB was chosen for this collaboration. 

He said, “I think the decision came because of previous collaborations [already], from Unbreak my Heart to It's Showtime, napag-uusapan [na] ano pa 'yung [p'wedeng] mga possibilities. Nu‘ng nabanggit ang PBB, because it will bring together artists from two groups, Sparkle and Star Magic, I think it was a natural—an easy decision to say, 'Yes, that would be a good collaboration' because, one, it would make the artist joining this collab build better affinity with the audience.”

Direk Lauren shed light on whether Kapamilya and Kapuso stars from other managements would be entering the house. He clarified, “Well, that was a decision point, the housemates have to be signed up with Sparkle or Star Magic.”

Additionally, Direk Lauren expressed his gratitude toward the GMA executives, who were also present during the media conference. “And I’m actually very grateful to the bosses of GMA because [parang no question] they agreed to go through the process of the selection of the housemates. They agree with the tradition and the rules that we’ve been doing for all the auditions of Big Brother. Walang kahirap-hirap makipag-collaborate, especially for this.”

With all the surprises and revelations, PBB Celebrity Collab Edition is sure to feature exciting episodes and remain iconic throughout its run. But will the housemates be able to get along and complete the tasks Big Brother has in store for them?
