Ken Chu Posts a Throwback "Meteor Garden" Photo to Remember Barbie Hsu

News of Barbie Hsu's death made headlines earlier today, as her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed her passing. Barbie passed away at 48 reportedly due to pneumonia caused by influenza complications. Iconic for her role as Shan Cai in Meteor Gardenthe Taiwanese actress spent a significant phase of her career with her co-actors in the series, the members of the Taiwanese boy band F4. As netizens remember Barbie, F4 member Ken Chu also took to social media to honor her memory. 

On Instagram Stories, Ken, who portrayed Xi Men in Meteor Garden, first posted a black image to represent his mourning, followed by a reposted throwback photo with Barbie and the series' other lead stars, F4's Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Vic Chou. 




Ken originally posted their group photo almost two years ago, on February 5, 2023, to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of their iconic series, Meteor Garden.

The Tagalog-dubbed version of the famous series—which is the first live-action television adaptation of the Japanese manga series Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango)was aired on ABS-CBN in 2003, paving the way for the phenomenal "Meteor Garden fever" in the Philippines.
