Finding one’s life purpose is not easy. Knowing what one wants to pursue early on in life is a gift. At only 15, Andee Lagon has hit the ground running to achieve tangible results for her vision: a fashion brand that caters to girls her age and even older women who want to inject positivity into their closets.

In the presence of her family, friends, and schoolmates, Andee recently introduced Loca. The Spanish word translates to “crazy“ in English. Asked about the story behind this name, Andee told Metro.Style, “My tagline is ‘embrace your crazy.’ Show your personality through clothes.”

At Loca, it’s summer all year round. Its debut collection features tops, bottoms, and accessories in pastel hues and whimsical floral prints. “I really like the idea of having summer clothes. If I would pick a season for my style, it’s summer,” Andee said, emphasizing the versatility of summer-appropriate pieces that can also be styled and layered for nippier months. One of our favorite pieces from the collection is a multifunctional scarf that may be used as a strapless top, a halter top, a belt, a hair accessory, and even a bag accessory.

“My whole life, I’ve always wanted my own clothing brand… Growing up, it was always so hard to find clothes that would fit me. It’s either too small or too big,” Andee shared, echoing the sentiment of many when it comes to ready-to-wear clothes. To address this, Loca’s collection includes pieces from 2XS (extra extra small) to XL (extra large).

Loca’s offerings had many revisions to meet Andee’s standards, and it is this part of the creative process that she considers most challenging. After months of thoughtful planning and meticulous production, the brand now proudly puts forth a line of clothes in easy and effortless styles that are especially perfect for the weather in the Philippines.

Aesthetics and comfiness aside, Loca’s pieces also have sustainability in mind, an advocacy that even the other businesses of Andee’s family champions. Young as she may be, Andee is serious about contributing to making a difference for this cause. Loca’s products are made of recycled PET bottles, making them durable and crease-resistant. The brand also has exclusive artworks printed onto fabric with water-based inks which are safer for the environment as compared to solvent-based inks.

Andee is the daughter of Anna Lagon, the woman behind Bayo and Unica. Her mom, Anna, shared that her daughter has always been interested in fashion; a young Andee would even go with her mom to photo shoots. “My mom was super supportive,” she said about her mom’s reaction to her plan to launch her own fashion brand. “She wants what I want.”

Now in Grade 10, Andee is sure about the course to pursue in college: fashion design. With more knowledge and hands-on experiences in this field, the future looks brighter for her, no doubt. For now, she’s having fun creating and learning the ropes of the business. She is just 15 after all, embodying a brand brimming with youthfulness, positivity, and intentional goals.
