Domingo said the two are still considered as active cases for now, along with six other patients who are under home isolation as well.

The DOH has yet to detect any other new cases, but it said the public should not become complacent.

Domingo said the DOH still has enough funds to procure more mpox test kits if necessary, adding that it is also looking at possible donations.

Filipinos can have themselves tested for mpox for free in all government hospitals, but the release of the results would take about 42 to 78 hours since the samples still need to be sent and processed at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa.

In the coming days, the DOH is set to release mpox prevention guidelines for business establishments, especially those offering services that entail close physical contact.

A few days ago, DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa himself joined an agency visit to a couple of establishments in Quezon City, particularly a barbershop and a spa, to see which health protocols they had in place and to determine what more can be done to prevent the spread of mpox.
