Inspired by the saying, &#x27;Find a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life,&#x27; she began to contemplate her next steps, supported wholeheartedly by our families in both Manila and Davao.&quot; </p><p>&quot;The answer came quickly: we wanted to share our love for climbing,&quot; he went on. &quot;With the sport gaining global popularity and being featured in the Olympics since 2020, Jen envisioned re-introducing climbing to her hometown, starting with bouldering.&quot; </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1732078059231wallclimber.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><span id="isPasted" style="color:rgb(65, 65, 65);letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;display:inline !important;float:none"><em>Photo courtesy of Boulder24</em></span><em> </em></span></span></span></div><p>Ronald noted that contrary to what most people think, rock climbing is not just about upper body strength, pointing out that it is &quot;a full-body workout that engages both the body and mind.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Each bouldering route is called a &#x27;problem,&#x27; and solving it requires strategy, creativity, and focus,&quot; he explained. &quot;You have to figure out the best moves, or &#x27;beta,&#x27; to reach the top, which challenges you to think critically and adapt on the fly.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Climbing not only builds physical strength and endurance but also enhances problem-solving skills and fosters mental resilience,&quot; he added, sharing the benefits of the sport. </p><p>When asked to give tips to first-time rock climbers, Ronald encouraged them to &quot;focus on enjoying the experience&quot; and not worry too much about reaching the top right away. </p><p>&quot;Take your time to explore the wall, practice your footwork, and get a feel for the different holds,&quot; he said. &quot;Remember, climbing is as much about having fun and learning as it is about challenging yourself.&quot;</p>
