Albert Domingo said Monday.</div><p>Domingo explained that doctors and health workers roam around evacuation centers to check on evacuees who are feeling unwell, amid the aftermath of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. </p><p>&quot;Ang pinamimigay natin ay iyong mga tinatawag na hygiene kit. Ang mahalaga nating tandaan at magandang marinig ng ating mga kababayan: hindi po dapat pinamimigay iyong mga gamot. Ang importante ho ay meron tayong mga doktor, may mga health worker na rumoronda, pumupunta doon sa mga evacuation center,&quot; he said in a televised interview on state-run PTV-4.</p><p>&quot;Kaya mahalaga po tandaan na hindi pinamimigay ang gamot; bagkus, ang tulong ng Department of Health at ng ating mga kapwa doktor at nurse sa mga local government units ay atin po ipapadala,&quot; he added.</p><p>Domingo, who is also a physician, warned that the casual intake of antibiotics may cause more harm than good. </p><p>&quot;Halimbawa, nagkakaroon tayo ng misconception na iyong antibiotic ay parang anting-anting laban sa leptospirosis. Mali po iyon. Kailangan po tayo ay kumonsulta sa isang doktor dahil ang antibiotic, kapag mali ang gamit at ito ay ininom nang hindi ayon sa reseta, nagkakaroon ng tinatawag na antibiotic resistance. Mas malaking problema ho kapag ang mikrobyo ay marunong lumaban sa mga gamot natin,&quot; he said. </p><p>Domingo also explained that even cough, colds, and fever may have other causes. </p><p>&quot;Ang ubo at sipon, maraming pwedeng sanhi iyan. Kung ito po ay nasa mga bata o kaya matanda, iyong sobrang bata at matanda naman na sobra, iyan po ang kailangan nating isangguni. Naiintindihan po namin na ang sitwasyon ay hindi pare-pareho at may mga lugar na hindi pa nakararating ang ating mga medical teams. Iyan po iyong tinutugunan natin ngayon,&quot; he said. </p><p>&quot;Iyang mga iba namang iniindang sakit na sa tingin natin ay kaya naman, meron ho tayong mga pwedeng gawing home remedy. For example, iyon atin po mga matatanda na nasa bahay, basta huwag na silang nakalublob sa tubig, naahon na sila, pwede namang kumutan.
