The global pizza scene has taken notice of Minante Pizzeria. Recently ranked 48th best pizzeria in Asia-Pacific for 2025 by 50 Top Pizza, this Cebu-based gem is making waves with its commitment to tradition, innovation, and hospitality.

Owned by pizzaiolo Matteo and Cristina Minante, with Filipino chef Jan Rodriguez at the helm, Minante Pizzeria blends authentic Napoletana techniques with Cebuano flavors and culture. Matteo and Cristina, originally from Italy, fell in love with Cebu’s beaches and warm atmosphere, and their passion for food led to the creation of the now award-winning establishment.

“Minante Pizzeria’s focus is on elevating the complete pizzeria experience—from methods and principles to quality of food and hospitality,” shares Matteo and Chef Jan. “This recognition proves that with honesty, integrity, gratitude, humility, excellence, sincerity, and trust, we can be on the same stage as the world’s best.”

Like in most pizzerias in the list, pizza-making is both an art and a science at Minante. The team follows the time-honored traditions of Napoletana pizza, ensuring every bite stays true to its Italian roots while incorporating Cebu’s vibrant flavors. Their signature pizzas, such as the Agricola, Minante, Atomica, Capoccolo, and Burrata Bomb, reflect this careful balance.

“We respect the traditions of Napoletana pizza as well as our diverse Cebuano culture. Our combined experience of over four decades allows us to create and innovate from something simple to something memorable that is distinct and completely representative of us,” says Chef Jan.

Ingredient souring is another pillar of their philosophy. While many ingredients are imported from Italy, they are firm believers in quality over convenience.

“We insist on using the best ingredients available for Napoletana pizzas. We can taste the difference, so we’re stubborn about quality,” Matteo emphasizes.

Following their flagship location’s success, Minante Pizzeria has expanded with a kiosk at Cebu IT Park, offering an eight-inch pizza experience tailored to the fast-paced crowd. Their upcoming Mactan branch in Lapu-Lapu City promises an even more diverse menu, setting the stage for future growth.

With the Asia-Pacific pizza scene growing more competitive, Matteo and Jan are dedicated to keeping Minante at the forefront of creativity.

“We continuously learn new techniques, draw inspiration from great chefs, and push ourselves to create something unique. Innovation is key, and we aim to be among those leading the charge.”

For pizza lovers in Cebu and beyond, Pizzeria Minante isn’t just about great food—it’s about an experience. Whether it’s a casual dine-in or an intimate celebration, every visit is a testament to their passion for tradition, quality, and hospitality.

Pizzeria Minante is located at 88th Ave., Gov. M. Cuenco Ave., Kasambagan, Cebu City, Cebu. Follow them on Instagram: @pizzeria.minante and Facebook: @minante.pizza..
