At every ABS-CBN Ball, the red carpet transforms into a runway of unforgettable looks. Whether stars embrace timeless elegance or push the boundaries with daring outfits, each look is equally as special and tailored to perfection, all thanks to the visionary talent of the fashion designers who bring them to life.

As we anticipate this year’s red carpet of stars in their Spring Formal best, Metro.Style brings you insider info from the designers who will dress the biggest stars at the Ball. Read through their take on this year’s theme and dress code.

Mark Bumgarner

Inspired by the spirit of Spring, Mark Bumgarner keeps it blissful. “For this year’s ABS-CBN Ball, the theme is Spring Formal so I opted to use very feminine, fresh, and muted colors for some of my muses,” he shares, with one of the muses in mind being Chie Filomeno. “All the looks that I created are very in line with our Brand Ethos, which is clean, crisp, and focused on silhouettes. I wanted my muses to feel their best during the night, and just be able to express themselves through our collaborative journey and have fun. This year’s ball, we will be seeing a whole lot of fresh looks and fresh perspectives on spring-summer formal dressing,” the designer shares.

Mak Tumang

Like much of this year’s looks, Mak Tumang leaves it to the imagination, simply hinting: “Expect to see something fresh and light”—a short and sweet statement that leaves lingering thoughts of spring in our minds. Known for his stunning, ethereal creations, we look forward to seeing the likes of Barbie Imperial wearing one of the designer’s looks this year.

Jot Losa

For Jot Losa, each look was tailored especially for its wearer, not just in shape or size, but also in intention. Starting with rising star Kai Montinola, the designer has created a look that embraces the actress’ “youthful elegance”, embodied in a design that features “a structured corset top that transitions into an ethereal cascade of delicate tulle ruffles”. Inspired by the beauty of hydrangeas, Kai’s look—through Jot’s words alone—is a rich vision of colors and textures, with a “breathtaking gradient of pink hues, seamlessly blending from soft pastels to richer tones, adding depth, movement, and a dreamy, romantic touch that perfectly complements her grace and charm.”

The designer is also dressing Sharon Cuneta, whose request for the Ball is a look that is “simple yet sophisticated—a striking departure from the elaborate gowns she typically wears for her concerts.” Thus, Jot’s takes on a different route for Sharon, opting for “a sleek design in a stunning nude shade, embracing understated elegance with clean lines and refined details that exude timeless grace.”

Ara Davao is another client of Jot for this year’s Ball. Her look—envisioned in collaboration with stylist MJ Benitez—is hinted to be “effortlessly chic and elegantly refined”. With a deep V neckline and a low back, expect to see Ara in a silhouette that “beautifully accentuates her poise and natural allure”, as described by the designer.

Lastly, Jot is also dressing Kyle Echarri. In an all-white suit with a button-down shirt meticulously crafted with delicate lace detailing, the look “strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and classic refinement, ensuring a look that is both timeless and fashion-forward.”

Ehrran Montoya

Ehrran Montoya is another designer whose creations we look forward to seeing on the ABS-CBN Ball red carpet. With Maris Racal set to stun in one of her looks, the designer’s ethos is to “highlight the celebrity” by keeping it understated yet nonetheless elegant. “For this year's ABS-CBN Ball, expect a very subtle Hollywood red carpet glam. Our atelier followed the theme through colors, vibe, and by not taking it too precise,” Ehrran shares.

Russel May Cordero With her ultra-feminine creations that walk between the lines of elegant and daring, there is no surprise that designer Russel May Cordero is dressing four women at this year’s Ball. Shaina Magdayao, Fyang Smith, Criza Taa, and Chloe San Jose are all poised to stun in their Spring Formal best with the help of Russel May.

Thian Rodriguez

For Thian Rodriguez, Morisette is set to have her “moment” at the Ball. “For Morisette’s look at this year’s ABS-CBN Ball, we envision and embody classic elegance and timeless beauty while making a “moment”, the designer shares. “I prefer not to be too literal with the theme ‘Spring Formal’, so I collaborated with an exquisite jewelry brand, Mjorian, to create a stunning piece that perfectly complements the overall look and elevates the whole ensemble.”

The ABS-CBN Ball will be happening this Friday, April 4. Stay tuned for more here at Metro.Style
