The California wildfire that first ignited in the Pacific Palisades, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, has spread throughout several parts of the greater LA area, leaving many residents without access to basic necessities. Now the most destructive fire in the city of Los Angeles’ history, many are reaching out to several foundations and communities for donations.

A Filipino designer based in the United States, Veejay Floresca, took on social media to extend help to the LA fire victims. In an Instagram post, Veejay offers one free custom wedding dress to a 2025 bride based in L.A. who was affected by the fire.

In an exclusive interview with Metro, Veejay explains why he was moved to help out during these difficult times. “I care deeply about my clients, my brides, and I know how important a wedding dress is to them. I may not have the financial means to donate, but I have the talent, professionalism, and heart to give back and help,” says Veejay.

Veejay is currently based in New York. She tells Metro that she used to live in Los Angeles and only moved to New York just three months ago. She was truly devastated by the news.

Just three days since she posted on Instagram, Veejay has already received letters in his email. “Some of the stories I read really resonate with me. It’s hard to even put into words how difficult it must be, but I tell them that this is just one of those challenges in life they will overcome,” says Veejay.

For those who are planning to help, The California Fire Foundation, Baby2Baby, Red Cross, Animal Wellness Foundation, and World Central Kitchen are open for donations.
