Steak lovers, rejoice!


The iconic American steakhouse Smith & Wollensky is making its Philippine debut this July, bringing its signature dry-aged USDA Prime beef, curated wines, and refined American dining experience to Bonifacio Global City.

Founded in 1977 in New York, Smith & Wollensky has built a reputation as one of the world’s premier steakhouses, with locations in major cities including London, Las Vegas, and Miami Beach. Its arrival in Manila marks a significant step in the brand’s global expansion.

The forthcoming BGC flagship aims to mirror the brand’s U.S. counterparts, offering a dining experience rooted in tradition, craftsmanship, and what the brand calls “unapologetic American luxury.”

“Smith & Wollensky has always stood apart — not just for our cuisine, but for the way we make people feel. Manila is ready for a steakhouse that embodies enduring tradition, not passing trends,” John W. Hardyment, chairman of Granville Restaurants Philippines, Inc. (GRPI) and Bayshore Pacific Restaurants, Inc. (BPRI), said in a statement.

The Manila branch will offer the full Smith & Wollensky experience, including its famed shellfish towers, house-butchered steaks, handcrafted cocktails, and a curated wine cellar. The brand emphasizes in-house dry-aging, proprietary techniques, and long-standing supplier relationships as the foundation of its commitment to quality.

While several international steakhouses have entered the Philippine market in recent years such as Wolfgang’s and Morton’s, Smith & Wollensky positions itself apart with a legacy spanning nearly five decades.

“This is more than just a restaurant,” Hardyment said, “it’s a destination for those who value craftsmanship, authenticity, and gracious service.”

The BGC location is owned by Granville Restaurants Philippines, Inc., the exclusive licensee of Smith & Wollensky in the Philippines. Operations will be managed by Bayshore Pacific Restaurants, Inc., which also oversees three Smith & Wollensky locations in Taiwan.

The Manila restaurant is expected to begin welcoming guests in the second week of July, with limited reservations to be offered in advance.
