Many K-drama actors, like Lee Seung Gi, have graced prior openings of the popular food chain Bb.q Chicken in Metro Manila cities.

In true K-drama flair, their events have always included Korean music and Korean-themed artwork as a tribute to the craze.

According to the owners, the Singson family, they are attracted by the tradition of Korean chicken making, which is why they introduced the franchise to the Philippines.

Last month, owner Kim Singson inaugurated their 15th store at Robinsons Antipolo to serve customers beyond Metro Manila.

“I'm also a fan of Korean dramas. I've been watching 'Crash Landing on You.' I enjoy K-dramas. We hope to work with them again soon,” she told ABS-CBN while recalling Lee Seung Gi's arrival at one of their stores.

“We're very passionate about the chicken we serve. Before launching the franchise in the Philippines, we attended Korean chicken making trainings with some of our team members to master the many versions,” she added.

When asked when they would get the official endorser for the restaurant chain, she said, “Some Korean actors are aficionados of our chicken. Right now, we don't have an official face for the brand, but we're seeking for someone whose image is popular among many families. We are a family brand, and we want to underline this.”

The Singson family also produces films. Their most recent project is "Beyond the Call of Duty," which stars Luis Christian Singson. Kim, on the other hand, has no desire to enter the entertainment industry and prefers to let her brother flourish.

At the Antipolo opening, Eric "Eruption" Tai, Will Devaughn, and Guji Lorenzana were all seen performing a TikTok dance. Other food influencers, Chavit Singson, and members of the Singson family were also there.
