MANILA -- Miss Universe Philippines national director Ariella Arida and executive vice president Voltaire Tayag are thrilled to bring out what they said will be the best Miss Universe Philippines pageant night.

The finals will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena Friday night.

The entire Miss Universe Philippines has been preparing to give the country and the world a phenomenal show to watch.

They shared that the 66 girls are very professional, preserving, and resilient. Despite the super hectic schedule with the national costume show the night before, the girls and their teams were still in high spirits during the whole-day rehearsals Thursday.

“The business of their schedule is three times of how busy we were before,” Arida said. “You would never feel that they were tired.”

Tayag pointed out the strategy the girls have been doing to keep their energy high.

“In between the times na they have to be dancing and doing their portions, they’re resting. So every single moment counts,” Tayag said.

Arida said she was getting goosebumps with the performance of the girls.

“I’m so excited for them because I’ve seen their hard work from the very start,” Arida said. “And then now finally this is their night.”

What will it take to be the next Miss Universe Philippines?

For Tayag, it’s “when the confidence comes from within — it’s not a put-on and it’s somebody who’s just enjoying and they don’t feel like there’s any pressure.”

“They always just shine ‘pag finals night,” he added.

“Of course people would have their favorites, right? But you know what Miss Universe Philippines is? You’ll never know unless it’s the finals,” Arida said. “There really is something in common na this girl really is the one.”

The two even revealed that because of the number of girls who stood out across the different stages of the pageant, they made a major change of changing the top three costume awardees into five.
