(UPDATED) Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province is set to represent the Philippines in the 74th Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in Thailand in November.

She bested 65 candidates for the crown during the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2025 finals at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday, May 2.

This makes her the sixth winner under the relatively new MUPH organization led by Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida.

Manalo succeeds another Manalo as the new MUPH. Her predecessor, Chelsea Manalo, was proclaimed the first-ever Miss Universe Asia in last year's edition of the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.

A veteran and fan favorite, Manalo placed second runner-up in last year's MUPH pageant.

She went on to represent the country in the inaugural Miss Cosmo competition, where she finished in the Top 10.

Manalo is part of the 2018 batch of Binibining Pilipinas queens led by Miss Universe Catriona Gray. She competed in Miss International that year, where she placed first runner-up.

The Philippines is considered a pageant powerhouse for its consistent semi-final placement in Miss Universe.

Four Filipinas have so far won the crown: Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
