On Instagram Stories, the beauty queen said she traveled from Boracay to Leon, Iloilo to light a candle at her Lola Basing's grave.

"As I walked closer, I felt her presence--warm, welcoming, proud," she recalled. "While praying, it was as if her hands rested gently on my shoulders, reminding me she's always with me."

In an interview with media upon her return to the country, Brooks said she is looking forward to a purposeful reign.
