Japanese lifestyle brand Muji has finally opened a flagship store in the Philippines after 8 years of offering minimalist apparel, home goods, and stationery in the country.

"The Filipino customers of Muji are a very young market," noted Muji Philippines president Takeshi Akiyoshi, adding that they continue to find ways to make the brand appealing to young customers.

The bakery -- a first in the Philippines -- takes up part of the space. It has a selection of breads inspired by Japanese and Filipino flavors, ranging from melon pan and croissants filled with red bean and butter to pandesal and ube ensaymada.

The bakery is complemented by the Coffee Counter, a concept that originated in Muji's Central Square Branch in Bonifacio Global City back in 2022. This iteration in Glorietta is now the biggest, with Muji working with local farmers and suppliers to showcase Benguet coffee beans and Filipino wooden furniture.
