Going on a Visita Iglesia tour this Holy Week? If you happen to be in Batangas, you may want to include Montemaria Shrine, home to the world's tallest Virgin Mary statue, in your itinerary. 

Mother of All Asia - Tower of Peace is said to be the world's 9th tallest statue. It is said to be even taller than the Statue of Liberty in the United States and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. 

Visitors can go up to the hands and crown of the statue to see and take pictures of the Batangas Bay.

Montemaria Shrine, located in Barangay Pagkilatan and Mabacong in Batangas City, also features the Sto. Niño Chapel where visitors can attend mass and receive the sacraments.

Montemaria Shrine, a township project by AbaCore Capital Holdings (ABA), welcomed around 100,000 visitors during last year's Holy Week. 

ABA is working with Fluvion Real Estate Development Inc. in operating and developing the shrine which now has a bigger restaurant and food complex, a modernized stations of the cross installation, and an expanded road network to accommodate more visitors.
