Attempting to lighten up the House quad-committee hearing on Thursday (September 19), the panel's co-chairperson Rep. Dan Fernandez diverted the topic from questionable bank accounts to the fresh hairstyle of one of the resource persons.

Fernandez was interpellating Cassandra Ong, who is implicated in illegal POGO hub Lucky South 99, about her numerous bank accounts and business ties with Whirlwind top executive Duanren Wu, when he made a remark about her appearance.

The lawmaker observed that Ong's hair was a different color, which she denied, and that she had curls, which she described as a "D.I.Y." (do it yourself) effort.

"Baka mamaya meron na kaming salon dito sa aming H.O.R. detention facility," Fernandez joked.

Ong, who was cited in contempt in a past quad-committee hearing, has been under the custody of the House of Representatives, save for her recent hospitalization.

"I just wanted to make it light, 'no, 'yung atin pong discussion," Fernandez said.
