MANILA -- Beauty queen Alexie Brooks is mourning the death of the most important person in her life. 

The Miss Eco International Philippines titleholder shared the sad news in an Instagram post, which showed a photo of her with Lola Basing, her grandmother. 

"Today, I lost the person I loved more than anything, and the pain is unbearable," she said, not giving details about the cause of her passing. "I'm at a loss for words."

In another post, Brooks shared what turned out to be her last letter to her grandmother as she continued to express sadness over losing of the woman who raised her.

"You are my mother, my father, my best friend, my mentor, my master teacher, my greatest love. God knows how much I love you and how shattered and broken I am," she said. 

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Brooks declared that her grandmother is "my life," saying that her Lola Basing shaped her into the person she is today.

"Without her, I don't have this dream, or I don't think that I will even be able to achieve the achievements that I have right now," she said. "Everything that I have ever done is all for her."
