Four shows from ABS-CBN and Knowledge Channel received accolades at the Anak TV’s Sinebata Video Competition. This national contest celebrates video works for, about, and by children and youth, focusing on the theme “Friendship in Diversity.”

The winners were celebrated during a ceremony on August 7 at The Peninsula Manila.

Two shows from the YeY channel, “Storyey: Ang Planetang Makulay” and “Game Play: Teamwork,” were honored in the Professional Non-fiction (8-12) category. “Hero City Kids Force: Hero Festival,” an animated show featuring Darna, Captain Barbell, and Lastikman, won in the Professional Non-fiction Under 7 category.

Danie Sedilla-Cruz, channel head of YeY, said, “It’s always a validation for us content creators for children. Hindi madali gumawa ng programang pang bata lalo na specifically for Team YeY... but we also feel, especially for ABS-CBN, napaka-importante ng segment na bata para sa atin as a compan. It’s always important for us to reach out to the young people for them to be taught the right values.”

Additionally, Knowledge Channel’s “Kwentoons: Si Bino, Si Buboy, Si Bantay, Magkaibigang Tunay” won in the Professional Fiction category for children 7 years old and under.

“Natutuwa kami na taon-taon may award ang Knowledge Channel mula sa Anak TV. Ang ginagawa naman natin sa Knowledge Channel ay mga videos na may kabuluhan, curriculum-based para makatulong sa pag-aaral ng mga bata para mas maintindihan mga lessons nila sa Reading, Mathematics at sa kung saan saan pang subjects,” said Edric Calma, vice president and director of operations of Knowledge Channel Foundation.

The winning entries from Sinebata will be showcased to Southeast Asian children at the Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children this November.
