MANILA — Former flight attendant and commercial model Elaine Bernardo, now more known as Laine Bernardo, is flying high, this time as a food vlogger.

With a total followers of 3,387,400 million on social media platforms, Bernardo is slowly reaching all her dreams as she redirects her path into content creation.

“Year 2018 pa po ako nagva-vlog, pero I started in beauty and fashion. Dalaga pa kasi ako that time then later on naisip ko masyado magastos 'yung ganitong content and medyo maliit ‘yung market. Kaya during pandemic, nag-switch ako sa food vlogging. Hindi naman siya accident, pero eto na talaga ‘yung gusto ko gawin noon pa,” she told to press.

Bernardo admits that competition is fierce on social media, but she chose to remain positive. “I consider all of them as an inspiration. Lahat naman may kani-kaniyang style. Masyado rin maliit ang mundo sa food vlogging para makipag-kompitensya pa. Hanggat may food, gagawin ko pa rin ‘to, so I guess forever na. Pero siguro iibahin (ko) ang style from time to time pero food pa rin,” she said.

Apart from sharing reviews and creating food-related content, Bernardo also noticed that people want to know more about her. This was after she uploaded more personal content which have become among her most watched videos.

“Actually ang most viewed content ko 'yung vlog ko na ‘Buhay Presidential Flight Attendant, ng mga Elite na tao at pati Hollywood Star’ na may 23 million views. Hindi ko siya inasahan na magiging ganun kataas kasi normally food-related lang talaga pino-post ko. Iyan ‘yung first ko nag-upload ng nagkwento lang ako ng konti about my life. Then bigla nag-boom! Nagulat din ako,” she said.

Now a full-time food vlogger, Bernardo also gave tips for beginners in the world of vlogging and content creation.

“Dapat first ten seconds ng unang video mo, interesting na. Iyun 'yung sure na mahu-hook mo 'yung attention ng viewers agad. And of course dapat may value. Make sure lang gusto mo talaga 'yung ginagawa mo, hindi dahil lang sa pera or fame. Kailangan kasi dito consistent ka. Hindi madali maging consistent kapag masyado mababa 'yung reason mo bakit ginagawa mo ito. Consistency is the key talaga,” she explained.
