Cagayan de Oro will finally have a 5-star hotel, thanks to a partnership between the Cebu-based property developer AppleOne Group and the Radisson Hotel Group.

AppleOne is known to many as the developer behind Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort in Cebu. In December last year, the company broke ground for JW Marriott Panglao Island Resort and Residences in Panglao, the first 5-star hotel and residence in Bohol.

The soon-to-rise property in CDO's uptown area, dubbed Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences, will have approximately 717 keys.

"We intend to replicate in CDO what we have successfully started in Cebu and in all other areas where we operate -- which is to contribute to the local economy and further boost the region’s tourism sector," he said in a statement.

Ramzy Fenianos, Radisson Hotel Group's chief development officer, for his part believes that their partnership with AppleOne will "enhance our strategic presence in the region."
