Try this classic Filipino dish made special with Knorr Shrimp Cubes. These cubes are made from real shrimp extracts, providing an authentic and rich seafood flavor without the need for expensive, whole shrimp.

Cooking time - 30 mins

Difficulty - Average

Prep time - 15 mins

Serves - 5 people

Ingredients:

- 125 g pork, thinly sliced

- 1/4 cup water

- 2 tbsp oil

- 1 small pc onion chopped

- 4 cloves garlic chopped

- 1/4 cup chicken liver, cut into bite-sized pcs

- 1/2 cup shrimp peeled (optional)

- 1 small pc carrot, cut into thin strips

- 1/4 cup chicharo, ends trimmed

- 1/4 pc cabbage, sliced into thick strips or baby pak choi (bok choy)

- 2 tbsp kintsay, roughly chopped

- 1/2 cup beansprouts, well rinsed and drained

- 2 cups water

- 2 pcs Knorr Shrimp Cubes

- 1 tbsp soy sauce

- pinch of ground black pepper

- 1 pack (240 g) pancit canton noodles

Procedure:

1. First, you need to get a pan and boil the pork in 1/4 cup water for 10-15 minutes or until the water dries up.

2. Pour in the oil and begin sautéing the pork until it turns brown in color.

3. Throw in the onions and garlic and cook until they are tender.

4. Add the chicken liver and sauté until fully cooked. If you are using whole shrimp, add them after the chicken liver is fully cooked. But if you are watching your budget, do not worry. You may skip the shrimp and use Knorr Shrimp Cubes to still get that shrimp flavor.

5. If you opt to add whole shrimp, once it changes color, add the carrots, chicharo, cabbage or pak-choi, beansprouts and kintsay and sauté for 1 minute.

6. Pour the water, Knorr Shrimp Cubes and soy sauce into the pan and allow these to simmer until the cube is dissolved well. Give this a nice seasoning of pepper.

7. Take the meat and vegetables out of the pan and drain them in a strainer or colander before transferring them to a bowl. This ensures that the noodles will cook properly in the stock and that the vegetables are still firm and not overcooked as well.

8. With the stock still simmering, drop the noodles in and stir it every once in a while. Stir occasionally to let the noodles absorb all the flavors of the stock. If the noodles have absorbed all the liquid and they are not yet tender, water may be added

9. Once the noodles are tender, transfer them onto a serving platter and arrange the cooked meats and vegetables on top. And then you are done. Your Pancit Canton is ready to be served. This dish is ideally served and paired with calamansi and soy sauce on the side.1

Ginisang Monggo

Looking to add a nutritious dish to your daily meals? Ginisang Monggo, a traditional Pinoy favorite that is packed with B vitamins, protein and minerals. Ideal for any occasion, Ginisang Monggo is a wholesome and satisfying meal that the entire family may enjoy.

Cooking time - 30 mins

Difficulty - Average
 Prep time - 60 mins

Serves - 4 people

Ingredients:

- 1 cup whole monggo beans

- 4 cups water

- 2 tbsp vegetable cooking oil

- 5 cloves garlic, mashed

- 1 pc medium-sized onion, chopped

- 3 pcs medium-sized red tomatoes, chopped

- 1/4 kg pork strips

- 2 pcs Knorr Pork Cubes

- 1/4 cup ampalaya, sliced very thinly (optional)

- 1 cup malunggay leaves

- Topping: 1/2 cup crushed pork chicharon (optional)

Procedure:

1. Cooking is all about love and patience. There are certain dishes that need more attention than others, no matter how simple they are. But in the end, you may be sure that the reward is worth it. Monggo is one of those dishes that needs certain preparation before it is fully enjoyed by the family.

2. Since monggo is a seed, you need to wash the seeds first in water to get rid of the unwanted dirt they might have collected. And since monggo is a kind of dried bean, you need to soak monggo in water to soften them because seeds absorb water. You may soak monggo for a minimum of 1 hour, but the longer you soak them, the less time you need to cook them. Make sure to remove the floating particles on top. You do not want any dirt on your dish.

3. Once your beans are soft enough you may start sautéing the garlic, onions and tomatoes in a saucepan for about 2 minutes or more. Here is a technique that most people do not know. Since your "aromatics" which are also known as your sautéing vegetables contain sugar, the longer you cook them, the more you develop flavor from caramelization.

4. The next step is simple: add the pork strips and sauté until nicely browned. Then, drain the beans from the soaking water and add them to your pot. Pour in 4 cups of water and add the Knorr Pork Cubes. Allow this mixture to simmer until the beans are easily mashable. If you prefer a thinner soup consistency, add more water. On the other hand, if you want a thicker soup consistency, lessen the amount of water or you may continue cooking until the sauce thickens.

5. Add the optional ampalaya and cook for 2 more minutes before adding the malunggay leaves.

(Tip 1: If you are not a fan of ampalaya, use ampalaya leaves instead or just add more malunggay leaves.

(Tip 2: Monggo is best topped with chicharon and paired with any fried dish like fish or liempo.)

With Knorr's Shrimp and Chicken Cubes, you may create delicious meals with ease, leaving you more time to savor your weekends with family and friends.
