In the latest 'Brand Directory,' also known as the 'Most Valuable Brands' list by London-based independent brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance, supermarket chain Puregold maintains its position in the top 10 brands alongside major players in banking, energy, and telecommunications sectors.

Every year, the brand valuation firm studies the strength and value of more than 5,000 brands from around the world, across over 40 sectors and industries.

In the latest 'Brand Finance Philippines 30 2024' report, Puregold has maintained its position at the 9th spot, after posting a 16% increase in brand value from 2023. Last year, Puregold debuted on the prestigious list in the same spot.

This achievement is notable, especially since the 'Most Valuable Brands' list has always been dominated by bigger conglomerates like BDO, Jollibee, and Globe Telecom. Puregold stands as the sole Philippine retailer in the top 10.

This feat is a reflection of Puregold's performance and continued dedication to delivering value and quality to its customers.

Ferdinand Vincent Co, President of Puregold Price Club, Inc., said Puregold's ranking serves as an inspiration to the entire company to keep delivering quality service to their customers.

"We are proud to be recognized as the only multi-channel retailer in the top ten. This achievement underscores our commitment to providing the best value to our customers through offering high-quality products at competitive prices and exceptional customer service," shared Co.

With this development, Puregold remains focused on driving growth, providing exceptional service, and keeping its commodities at rates its customers may afford.

Sustainable initiatives and environmental commitment

Puregold's sustainability efforts have also garnered attention. The company ranks 7th in the local Sustainability Perceptions Index, a measure of how a brand manages its reputation for commitment to sustainability.

Here are some key programs driving Puregold's sustainability efforts:

'Walang Plastik Grocery Days' - encourage customers to bring reusable bags every Monday and Wednesday. Perks and Tindahan ni Aling Puring members even get rewarded with cashbacks for using eco-friendly bags.

Reduced plastic use - Nearly half of Puregold stores have eliminated single-use plastic bags, transitioning to recycled carton boxes, and reusable alternatives.

Energy efficiency - Puregold is transitioning all stores to 100% LED lighting to decrease energy consumption.

Water conservation - The supermarket chain prioritizes responsible water use through investments in 135 wastewater treatment facilities, rainwater catchment, and greywater reuse programs.

Puregold's efforts not only help benefit the environment, but also empower customers to make eco-friendly choices.
