Fisher, who now serves as a coach, brand investor, and documentary producer, reflected on his journey from high school to becoming an NBA champion: "My best moment? It had to be getting drafted to the NBA. Anything that happened after that started with getting there first. Having the opportunity to get drafted by the Lakers in 1996 was an amazing blessing. That stands out as the best moment."

During his brief stay in the country, Fisher also met some aspiring athletes in a basketball clinic. "That was great! We had some high school players out there. They are probably mad at me because I let them work pretty hard. We did a few drills. The people here are amazing," he shared.

When asked about his current role as the head basketball coach at Crespi Carmelite High School in California, Fisher talked about resilience, patience, and endurance–qualities that an athlete must possess.

"When I was in high school, the type of success that came with playing in the NBA one day or making it to a higher level, things were not as accessible. We did not have the newest phones when we were 16 the way kids do now. We did not have the best tennis shoes when we were kids because our parents could not afford the brand-new shoes that all the kids wear now. We just did not have access to as many things. So, I thought we were more humbled by the opportunities. We did not feel entitled to many things. We did not assume that we were supposed to have anything. We just worked hard for it." Fisher shared.

On his observations among the youth, he noted, "I think now, the young players feel like what they want is literally right there and that they do not have to work as hard and for as long to get there. So, trying to coach young people to help them understand that it takes many, many, many years of hard work for you to reach your highest potential, that is the hardest part–trying to convince them that you cannot have it all at 15. It is a long way away. But I am having fun."

During the event, two lucky fans had the chance to pose questions to Fisher, with one asking how to motivate players to persevere in the sport. Fisher emphasized the importance of passion, dedication, and enjoying the process of improvement: "Many players, whether men or women, have been able to sustain and play at the highest levels. There is just a genuine love and passion for the game. But not just the game; it is the practice, it is the workouts, it is the hours in the gym that nobody sees. It is the off-season conditioning, the weight training, out on the track, nutrition, sleep, it is all the things. You love the process of trying to become the best."

Continuing his reflection on the importance of commitment, he added, "It is not so much with the 'only if.' 'I am only gonna work hard if I get this.' It is really learning to embrace just working hard and having faith that you will get there at some point if you keep working."

However, he acknowledged the challenges many face in maintaining perseverance, "it is hard to always work hard for something if you do not feel like you are gonna get the results you want. At some point, you kind of give up on your dream. It is so important especially when you start playing early in your career to learn how to just have fun doing what you are doing. Embrace the journey, do not give up on your dream, and understand everybody's timing is different," he said.
