The Padre Pio Mountain of Healing in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan is a renowned religious destination attracting devotees seeking spiritual solace and healing.

Situated in Barangay Paradise III, this privately owned sanctuary boasts a 50-feet tall statue of Saint Pio, a Way of the cross, and a chapel, creating an atmosphere of reverence and tranquility.

There is a small steep trek on the way to the top.

Nena Aragon, 76, recently went there together with her fellow elderly friends. She admitted that the climb was hard but worth it.

"Maganda with friends parang mas thrilling ito, mas solemn kaysa sa iba maganda dito eh," Nena said.

(It is ideal to go here with friends; this place is more solemn compared to others.)

Rodel Rodriguez, the site's administrator, devotees flock to the sacred place — especially during Holy Week — to pray for their health and seek miracle healings, inspired by Padre Pio's legacy as the first stigmatized priest known for intercessory miracles.

"'Pagbaba nila, kumusta pag-akyat mo [sa] Padre Pio, grabe nakakuha sila ng kagalingan marami dito share ko na po number 1 kagalingan at number 2 gusto magkaanak. Napakarami dito na testimonial," he said

(When they come back from the mountain, they feel healed. People come here for healing, and secondly, for couples to bear children.)

Despite the bustling atmosphere of Metro Manila, which often hinders quiet reflection during religious observances, the Padre Pio Mountain of Healing provides a serene and conducive environment for individuals to connect with their spirituality and commune with God through prayers.

This Holy Week, the Padre Pio Mountain of Healing is open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Holy Monday to Good Friday.
