Netizens shared mixed reactions after video clip of traditional Kalinga tattooist Apo Whang-od touching actor Piolo Pascual’s crotch went viral.
The video, taken after Pascual got a tattoo from Whang-od, showed the 107-year-old mambabatok touching Pascual’s leg, before moving her hand to touch his crotch.
Pascual was obviously taken aback by Whang-od’s actions, but the two ended up laughing together.
The video has been reposted across social media platforms, where netizens expressed their opinions.

Some users expressed their envy, even noting how Whang-Od is still mischievous despite her age, while some were not too happy about it.
On X, one user called Whang-od’s action “sexual harassment”, and even calling out the “double standards” people have because Whang-od is an old woman, but it would have been a different case if it involved an old man and a younger woman.
Another user said the action becomes offensive “when one party did not give permission, or was offended, or was uncomfy.”
“Piolo did not say No, did not move away, and was laughing in good fun,” the user added.
“Seeing the video of Apo Whang Od and Piolo, it looks like Piolo was not offended AT ALL. Mas na offend pa yata ‘yung mga nagpopost sa X,” another user added.

Others also noted how this was not the first time that Whang-Od touched a man’s crotch, but it only became a big deal because it was Pascual involved.
“Bat ngayonlangkina-cancel si Apo Whang Od? Eh tagal na niyangginagawa ‘yan. Kina cancel siya because kay Piolo na niya ginawa?” a X user said.
Whang-Od, or Apo Maria Oggay, is the Philippines’ oldest mambabatok. She is a recipient of the Dangal ng Haraya Award for Intangible Cultural Heritage.
She was conferred the award in 2018.
Last month, she received the Presidential Lingkod-Bayan Award.
