"Actually, I started this program to use our simple way to give back to the community because I experienced poverty first hand and I know how hard it is to have and access to education especially if you do not have enough resources," she said.
Meanwhile, Gomez also give her thoughts on recent talks on Miss Universe Philippines regarding the use of their own language in competing the pageant. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3Csw4FyM_5/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
"I would really love to commend the Miss Universe Organization for having this kind of chance and platform for all women who are representing their province to use the language or dialect they are comfortable with, because I myself I sounded like a true Filipina. I may have punto but I am proud that I am able to communicate and extend my causes," she explained.
"Because language or dialect should not be a problem in joining a pageant," she added.
The Miss Universe Philippines press presentation will be held on February 17.
