BINI member Maloi is one of the most distinct members of the uber-popular nation’s girl group because of her sense of fashion.

ABS-CBN News sat down with Maloi and she shared that the group’s stylist Ica Villanueva, helped her find her style, her branding and the right sense of fashion that suits her personality.

So what is Maloi’s fashion?

“More on coquette, nagmi-mix ako ng style. Blokette style -- the bloke outfit, jerseys tapos mixed with coquette. Minsan I mix street wear with coquette,” she said.

Vogue magazine described and summarized "coquette" as a mix of romantic, sweet and playful elements -- a Gen-Z take on a hyper-feminine style that references the Victorian Regency era.

Maloi finds fashion a liberating and creative experience. 

“I tend to explore sa fashion. For me, I like dressing up. I feel free 'pag nag-de-dress up ako. Walang boundaries, walang no. If feel ko ito 'yung fashion ko ngayong araw, 'yun ang gagawin ko,” she said.

Travelling also helps her discover style and infuse culture in her outfits. But best of all, Maloi loves ‘ukay’ fashion.

“Sobrang gustong-gusto ko na nag-uukay. Nag-ukay ako bago mag-US. Sa Cubao, shout out Cubao and Anonas, dahil napakaganda ng ukayan nyo,” she said.

Why ukay? Maloi said, “Let’s promote sustainable fashion.”

She said there’s a lot of treasure pieces in ukay-ukay stores if you look and dig deep into their racks and racks of dresses.

“I like unique pieces, minsan 'yung mga vintage, kakaiba. Akala mo normal shirt, tapos may lace sa baba. Ang daming surprises, ang daming texture na hindi mo makikita sa mall or sa online. I love ukay,” she said.
