Solaire Resort and Casino is redefining peak luxury with its resort and casino in Quezon City.

The complex in Vertis North has a lot to live up to as the first integrated resort with a five-star hotel in Northern Metro Manila. This gives gamers an alternative to motoring all the way to Entertainment City or Clark for their sessions.

What the new Solaire lacks in footprint, it more than makes up for in height. The first Solaire Resort in Entertainment City in Pasay is known for its expansive floor area. In Solaire North’s case, the gaming areas, the restaurants, and the rooms are still there, but they go up upwards and onwards.

A visit to Solaire North starts on the first floor where the centerpiece is The Mangrove – an art installation that dominates the four-floor atrium beckons guests to explore its charms.

For those who want to try their luck, take the escalators up to three floors of gaming goodness. Solaire North went the extra mile to make these floors family-friendly with corridors that surround the floor to shield the young ones from the hustle and bustle from the gaming area.

One can’t game and have fun on an empty stomach. If you’ve been to the original Solaire, you’ll find many familiar restaurants there with some tweaks. The big difference is that present and future restaurants will be fully Solaire owned and operated.

The Food Court has something for everyone. Jeeves de Veyra

The first stop for most foodies will be the food court that will have something for any palate. Noodles, burgers, pizza, croissants, coffee, tacos, adobo, korean fried chicken, beer, sushi… you name it, and you’ll probably find it here.

For those who need to keep their energy up, Solaire has two outlets to keep gamers going 24/7 -- Dragon Bar for drinks, and Lucky Noodles for quick Chinese fare.

For Solaire North’s more premium restaurants, Solaire’s Chinese restaurant Red Lantern brings its lunchtime dim sum buffet to Quezon City along with other premium Chinese entrees.

The underrated Yakumi Japanese restaurant. Jeeves de Veya

Yakumi is an underrated Japanese gem with its selection of sake and premium sushi.

This Quezon City version has a more zen-like vibe that trades the floor to ceiling windows facing Manila Bay for polished interiors, stations all around the restaurant and installations that evoke Mount Fuji.

The Filipino restaurant Manyaman is exclusive to Solaire North. Jeeves de Veyra

Manyaman is an all-original Filipino restaurant only located in Solaire North. The food has surprising twists on Filipino food.

A surprising must order is their Pancit Canton which has al-dente noodles coated with liver sauce and topped with crispy bagnet and prawns.

The entrees are really meant to be shared family style as with the indulgent Prawns with Coconut Aligue and Beef Coconut Cream Adobo.

Above the gaming floors is the resort’s pool. Beside it is a mini-water park for kids. Stop by the poolside bar for refreshments and snacks.

The all-day dining outlet Fresh offers much variety. Jeeves de Veyra

Right beside it is Solaire’s all-day dining restaurant Fresh, this one is a whole lot bigger than its sister all-day restaurant that can seat 500 people with options to open sections to seat more guests. Fresh features rooms for families or groups of guests who’d rather keep their own company.

The breakfast for hotel guests and walk-in customers offer much variety courtesy of the three cooking islands. After the morning rush has finished, the restaurant sets up buffets for lunch and dinner. These have a wider selection with the dinner buffets having wine and lobsters in its spread.

Solaire North has a low zone and a high zone. The Low Zone from the first floor to the 30th includes the gaming areas and the deluxe rooms.

Above the 30th floor is the more exclusive zone with suites and the newly opened premium gaming floors and dining areas for VIP guests.

The expansive suites boast awe-inspiring views of the Quezon City skyline with a fully equipped kitchen for those who want to cook, or for Solaire to prepare meals served at the suite’s dining area.

The bedroom continues the luxurious setting of the living room. Leather boxes along with books on cars, watches and fashion accentuate this room. The couple’s bathroom beside it has a bathtub and twin washing areas with toiletries from Florentine perfume house Lorenzo Villoresi.

The high zone has culinary attractions of its own. On the top floor is Finestra, Solaire’s fine-dining restaurant known for its wine, steaks and Italian menu.

The menu has a carefully curated selection of seldom seen dishes like this Merluzza, Patagonian toothfish with polenta and fennel.

End the night at Skybar. Jeeves de Veyra  Hop on over next door to the Skybar for a proper nightcap. Resident mixologist Melody Lim mixes up cocktails that are great to sip by the balcony high above the city.

Have a puff at the spirits and cigar room. For discerning drinkers, the bar has a dedicated section for whisky where they have daily sippers to bottles that are way beyond top-shelf. Take a look around for exclusive whiskys such as the Glenfiddich Sakura 29, to a multi-million-peso bottle of Macallan that is only available here.

Beyond that, Solaire North still has some foodie aces up its sleeve. They will be opening Café Mangrove and a more laid-back Italian restaurant on the ground floor soon.

Solaire North can be found at Vertis North 1, EDSA, Quezon City.
