Filipino-American rapper and singer apl.de.ap had just opened a Filipino restaurant in Tooting Broadway, London.

Born Allan Pineda, apl.de.a turned to social media to announce the opening of Turo Turo, a Filipino barbecue and grill restaurant.

In his post on Wednesday morning (London time), apl.de.ap shared how his new business was born, after over a year since he tasted the food of chef Rex de Guzman, founder of Turo Turo UK.

"This is a picture from the first time I ever got to taste @chefrexdeguzman food. It was located atop a bar with karaoke rooms and I was there with my team getting ready for Masterchef. The food was amazing. Nothing over the top. Nothing pretentiously plated and overpriced. Just good comfort food and bbq," the Black Eyed Peas member wrote. 

"Over the next year and a half we began talking about how to open @turoturouk into a permanent standalone. I’m proud to say we’re here. Tomorrow we’ll be opening in Tooting. If you’re in London - please check us out!"

In its official Facebook page, Black Eyed Peas also congratulated apl.de.ap for his newest business venture.

According to Chef Rex, Turo Turo offers Filipino dishes like kare-kare, prawn ginataan and its signature dish -- grilled chicken inasal.
